First Look vs. First Touch

Ah! The day you have spent months and months planning has finally arrived. It is absolutely normal that your emotions are all over the place; feeling excited or happy or absolutely in love. Today is such an emotional day and we hope you find comfort in being surrounded by all of the people that love you and the person you are about to marry so much!

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – your wedding day FLIES by and can truly be hectic at times. It is possible you will find yourself feeling nervous before the ceremony and just needing some reassurance from the love of your life. A first look or first touch is a good idea to ease those pre-ceremony jitters or even to just have some alone time with your fiancé, because after all, this day is all about you two and the love you share!

Now between the first look and the first touch; that is completely up to you! A first look is a great opportunity to film those endearing moments of you two looking into each other’s eyes and taking a deep breath before you walk down the aisle to profess your love in front of the most significant people in your lives.

If you have concerns that doing a first look will spoil part of your ceremony – it does not! Your wedding day is supposed to be an intimate day for you and your future spouse, so if you want to get some private time in before the day begins, do not hesitate to do just that. Yes, waiting until you are walking down the aisle to have your first look is traditional and also extremely exciting for you and all of your guests, but you are not together in a face-to-face setting and you won’t have those photos and video clips to look back on.

Following tradition could be important to you; being superstitious on your wedding day is definitely okay! Doing a first touch is a way to still feel connected to your fiancé without breaking the tradition of not seeing each other at all before the ceremony. This option will allow you to calm your nerves by talking, praying, sharing your more personal vows with one another, or just simply feeling the touch from your love. We hope this information was helpful and know that your wedding day will be perfect no matter what you decide to do!
